ScheduleThis subsection includes an overview of scheduled construction activities for the next month. To view the overall project schedule with estimated dates of construction, click on the "Work Plan" tab at the top of this page. AUGUST 2010 Water Crew #1: Installing waterline along 4th Street, north of Center Ave. After completing 4th Street, this crew will move to 1st Street, south of N. Center Ave, and work their way south toward the 2nd Street "Y" intersection. Water Crew #2: Crew #2 will be installing waterline along 2nd Street, north of Center Ave. Once completing installation here, they will move to 6th Street and complete approximately 100 ft of waterline that was left unfinished in July. After closing this gap, they will move to 2nd Street, just east of Building 20, to complete another gap. By the end of August, they will be working on installation along 5th Street, north of Center Ave. Water Crew #3 & Water Crew #4: Installing water laterals to Buildings 20, 25, 56, and 67. JULY 2010 Water Crew #1: Installing waterline along 2nd Street, just east of Building 20. They will then move between Building 15 and 21. Once completed in this area, the crew will move along 1st Street, just east of Building 15, and move south down 1st Street toward the 2nd Street "Y" intersection. Water Crew #2: Crew #2 will be installing waterline along North Avenue and along 3rd Street, north of Center Ave. They will also begin installation along 6th Street, north of Center Ave. Water Crew #3 & Water Crew #4: Installing water laterals to Buildings 20, 50, and 25. JUNE 2010 Water Crew #1: Installing waterline along 2nd Street, just east of Building 20. Water Crew #2: Crew #2 will be installing waterline along North Avenue. They will begin at the 1st Street intersection and head west along North Ave. This will result in the closure of North Ave from 1st Street to 6th Street Water Crew #3 & Water Crew #4: Installing water laterals to Buildings 20, 55 and 64. MAY 2010 Water Crew #1: Installing waterline along Center Ave, near Buildings 44, 21 and 15. This crew will then head to the intersection of 1st Street and 2nd Street, installing waterline north up 2nd Street. Water Crew #2: Crew #2 will be installing waterline along 1st Street. They will start just west of the USAR Buildings and head south along 1st Street to Building 15. Water Crew #3 & Water Crew #4: Installing water laterals to Buildings 44, 21, and 54. APRIL 2010 Water Crew #1: Installing waterline across the Agricultural Ditch between 3rd Street and 4th Street. Also, the installation of water laterals to Building 95. After Building 95, the crew will head to the instersection of Federal Ave and 4th Street to install waterline. They will move north to Center Ave before turning east and crossing 4th Street and 3rd Street. Water Crew #2: Crew #2 will be installing waterline near the USAR buildings and the pump station/reservoir. This work is related to the ESOC-West project that is beginning in the northeast corner of the Federal Center. They will also complete the water laterals to Building 85. Water Crew #3 & Water Crew #4: Installing water laterals along 6th Street to Buildings 50, 52, 52A, 53, and 64. MARCH 2010 Water Crew #1: Installing waterline across the Agricultural Ditch between 3rd Street and 4th Street. There are four crossings to complete during the month of March. Once the crossings are complete, Crew #1 will start installing the water laterals to Building 95. Water Crew #2: Installing waterline along the west side of 3rd Street between Center Ave and Main Ave. They are also installing waterline between 2nd Street and 3rd Street just south of Building 20. Once this waterline has been installed, Crew #2 will start installing waterline near the USAR buildings and the pump station/reservoir. This work is related to the ESOC-West project that is beginning in the northeast corner of the Federal Center. Water Crew #3: Installing water laterals along 5th Street to Buildings 41 and 53. Once this crew is complete, they will install the water laterals to Building 85. Water Crew #4: Installing water laterals along 5th Street to Buildings 41 and 53. FEBRUARY 2010 Water Crew #1: Installing waterline along Center Avenue, north of Building 41, and along 4th Street. For installation along 4th Street, they are starting at the Main Avenue intersection and moving north towards Federal Ave. They will then turn west along Federal Avenue to 5th Street. Once this waterline is completed, they will begin installation along the west side of 3rd Street, starting at Main Avenue and moving north. Water Crew #2: Installing waterline along 5th Street, south of Center Avenue. Once completed, this crew will jump down near the Post Office and install waterline along 7th Street. Once completed, they will jump back and install laterals to Buildings 64, 85, 85A, and 95. Water Crew #3: This crew will be in charge of installing all water laterals that were previously skipped by Crew #1 and Crew #2. This includes laterals to Buildings 41, 710, and 710A Water Crew #4: This crew will be in charge of installing water laterals to the west side of Building 41. JANUARY 2010 Water Crew #1: Installing waterline along Main Avenue. Starting at the 6th Street intersection and moving east toward 1st Street. The intersection of Center Avenue and 6th Street will also be closed for a few days as waterline is installed. From there, the crew will move north along 5th Street. Water Crew #2: Installing waterline along 6th Street, south of Center Avenue. Once completed, this crew will jump down near the Post Office and install waterline along 7th Street. Water Crew #3: This crew will be in charge of installing all water laterals that were previously skipped by Crew #1 and Crew #2. This includes laterals to Buildings 85, 85A, 94, 95, 64, 710, 710A, 720, and the Post Office. Sanitary Crew: This crew will be performing sanitary rehabilitation in all areas east of 3rd Street. They will also rehabilitate an existing line just east of Building 50. Electrical Crew: This crew will be installing a concrete electrical ductbank along the west side of 7th Street, north of Center Avenue. This will include the crossing of 7th Street, near Building 67. Clean-up Crew: Heavy equipment will be loading and hauling miscellaneous spoil piles from all over the DFC. They will place this soil near the northwest corner of 8th Street and Main Ave in a designated laydown area. DECEMBER 2009 Water Crew #1: Installing waterline along Main Avenue. Starting at the 6th Street intersection and moving west toward 10th Street. From there, this crew will jump to the intersection of Center Avenue and 6th Street, moving south along west side of 6th Street. Water Crew #2: Installing waterline in a loop around the FEMA Buildings (710, 710A and 720). They will work there way up 7th Street to Main Avenue. From there, they will jump to the 6th Street/Main Ave intersection and move east along Main Ave. Sanitary Crew: This crew will be performing various point repairs east of 3rd Street. They will primarily be working around Buildings 16, 21, 21B and 25. This includes sanitary pipe repair along 1st and 2nd Streets. Clean-up Crew: Heavy equipment will be loading and hauling miscellaneous spoil piles from all over the DFC. They will place this soil near the northwest corner of 8th Street and Main Ave in a designated laydown area. ACTIVITIES COMPLETED TO DATE: (11-19-2009 through 11-25-2009) Main Avenue will be closed from 7th Street to 8th Street for waterline installation. (11-11-2009) The intersection of 7th Street and Center Avenue will be closed as crews install waterline. Proper signage will be installed to detour traffic around this work zone. (11-10-2009) Exterior walls will be poured at the pump station. (11-11-2009) 8th Street will be paved on November 11th and will require the closure of a majority of the street north of Center Ave. These closures may also extend into Thursday. (11-4-2009 through 11-10-2009) The parking lots around Buildings 85 and 85B will experience some closures as waterline laterals are installed. Please use the temporary parking lot north of Building 85A during this time. (11-4-2009 through 11-10-2009) Around 15 parking spaces will be closed in the parking lot west of Building 67 for electric manhole installation. (11-3-2009) A segment of 8th Street is closed for waterline installation. The duration of this closure is one day. (11-2-2009) Waterline installation will begin at the intersection of 7th Street and Main Avenue. Crews will work west along Main Avenue. This will result in road closures and detours. Please check back for more information. (10-28-2009) Three parking spaces south of Building 40 (along Federal Place) will be closed as crews clean up soil piles in the vicinity. This work will last only two hours at which time these spaces will reopen. (10-20-2009) Crews will be potholing near the Post Office and Buildings 710, 710A, and 720. There will be localized closures around the potholing truck, but all buildings and parking lots will remain accessible during this time. (10-19-2009) Crews will be installing a new manhole along 6th Street, near Buildings 50 and 53. This will result in a one-lane closure around the work zone that will last two days. See the updated bulletin for more information. (10-19-2009 through 11-13-2009) 8 electrical manholes will be replaced along the west side of 7th Street. This will result in sidewalk closures and some parking closures in the lot west of Building 67. (10-19-2009) Sanitary sewer rehabilitation will occur south of Building 85. This will result in localized closures around the manholes. (10-19-2009) One of the water installation crews will begin at the intersection of 7th Street and Center Ave, working their way south along 7th Street. A majority of the waterline is being installed just west of 7th St, minimizing the required road closures. Portions of 7th Street will be closed when the water laterals are installed to Building 64/64A. At this time, detours will be necessary, but all buildings will remain accessible. (10-19-2009 through 10-28-2009) Waterline installation will move just north of the intersection of Center Ave and 10th St. Crews will begin working their way east along Center Ave all the way to 6th St. This will result in parking closures in the lot south of Building 85. (10-19-2009) Sanitary crews will be performing pipe-bursting along 2nd Street (south of North Central Ave). This will result in road closures, detours, changes in building access, and parking closures. The entire process will take approximately 2 weeks to complete. (10-8-2009 thru 10-12-2009) Sanitary sewer crews will perform two point repairs in the small parking lot east of Building 56. As a result, up to 6 parking spaces will be closed through Monday, October 12th. See the updated bulletin for exact closure locations. (10-7-2009 thru 10-9-2009) Sanitary sewer crews will perform two point repairs in the parking lot southeast of Building 53. As a result, up to 5 parking spaces will be closed through Friday, October 9th. See the updated bulletin for exact closure locations. (9-28-2009 through 10-2-2009) Sanitary sewer point repairs south of Building 67 will require the closure of 5 visitor parking spaces and 5 employee parking spaces. (9-25-2009) Concrete Pour #2 is planned for the pump house/reservoir. It will take thirty-six concrete trucks to provide the necessary quantity of concrete for this pour. (9-23-2009) The parking lot north of Building 85 will be closed for waterline installation. During this time, tenants can park in the temporary lot across 8th St or the parking lot for Building 75. This parking lot will reopen on Wednesday, September 23rd. (9-18-2009) Sanitary sewer installation is complete near Building 64 (the Daycare). (9-18-2009) The temporary parking lot entrance south of Building 85 (off of Center Ave) will be closing. All traffic entering this parking lot will have access from 8th St. (9-18-2009) Waterline installation is finishing up along 8th St. The laterals will be installed at a later date. (9-16-2009) Waterline installation will move back to 10th St where crews will finish up the line that crosses Main Ave. Once this section is complete, crews will head back up to 8th St and continue north. (9-15-2009) Crews will be installing sanitary line at the northeast corner of Buliding 50. This will require the closing of approximately 20 parking spots in the gravel lot. Overflow parking is available in the lot south of Building 50 (entrance off of Main Ave). This work should last one to two days. (9-14-2009) Waterline installation continues along 8th Street near Building 85 & 85A. As construction moves north, 8th St will begin to reopen to vehicular traffic. (9-10-2009) Construction crews will shift to the intersection of 8th Street and Center Avenue. Waterline installation will move north along 8th Street, affecting Buildings 85 & 85A. A temporary construction entrance will be installed along Center Avenue to allow access to the parking lot south of Building 85. Tenants will also use the maintenance road between 7th and 8th Streets to access the lot north of Building 85. The maintenance road will be improved and proper signage will be installed before construction begins in this area. (9-4-2009) Water crews will begin saw-cutting along 8th Street, north of Center Avenue. This will result in temporary, one-lane closures along 8th St. Flaggers will be present to direct traffic around the work zone. (8-31-2009 through 9-2-2009) Crews will be closing portions of 6th Street from Main Avenue to N. Central for adequate access to the existing sanitary lines. There will be localized, one-lane closures along this stretch of 6th St. and flaggers will be present to direct traffic around the work zone at all times. (8-29-2009) Waterline installation will begin at the intersection of Center Avenue and 10th Street. Work at this intersection may extend beyond the weekend which would result in the closure of Gate 5. Please seek an alternate route to work starting Monday, August 31st. The gate could potentially be closed through Friday, September 4th. Check the homepage for the most current Gate 5 closure status. (8-25-2009) Crews will be potholing in Area 2 along Main Avenue (from 10th Street to 8th Street). All work will be on the north side of Main Avenue and may require temporary lane closures. All buildings will remain accessible and flaggers will be present to direct traffic around the work zone.
